Freddie Allen Barbee
Universal City, TX - Freddie Allen Barbee went to be with the Lord June 17, 2009 at the age of 91 in Schertz, Texas. Mr. Barbee was born March 27, 1918 in Emmanuel County, Georgia to Charles and Laura Barbee. He was retired from the U.S. Army a veteran of the World War II and Korean wars. In the 1930's Mr. Barbee was a member of the Savannah Chapter of the Georgia Hussars. Freddie was a member of First Baptist Church of Universal City.
Survivors of Mr. Barbee include his wife of 61 ½ years, Daisy Barbee; daughter, Gail Barbee; sisters; Vivian Bedgood, Evelyn Tuten and Virgie Mell; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, June 23, 2009 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
Graveside Service will be held Wednesday, June 24, 2009, 11:00 a.m. at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, with full Military Honors.
